Commissioners set June 8 completion hearing for DD 11 Sub 1 reclassification

Humboldt County commissioners voted to accept and place on file a reclassification report for Drainage District 11 Sub 1 and scheduled a completion hearing for Monday, June 8 at 9:00 a.m.

Staff member (Speaker 7) reviewed the reclassification and benefit schedule changes, noting one alteration that produced cost savings compared with the original plan. Commissioners discussed a lateral (Lateral 8) that had been separated out and confirmed signed agreements with landowners for future maintenance of the tile. Chair (Speaker 2) made the motion to set the hearing and Speaker 6 seconded; the motion passed.

Commissioners asked staff to confirm whether a portion of the work—specifically crushing plate work near the project—would be charged to secondary roads or the drainage district; staff said they would check with the project manager and follow up. The hearing date was selected so notice letters could be mailed in time and avoid conflict with the county election schedule.

The measure to set the completion hearing was procedural: it schedules the next formal step in the reclassification process and does not itself approve construction. The board directed staff to circulate notice to affected landowners ahead of the June 8 hearing.
