SORM completes server migration; IT reports cybersecurity training and initial AI testing

SORM’s technology team announced completion of a multi‑phase server migration and outlined ongoing cybersecurity and AI preparedness work.

“Tania, director of IT, said the main servers are now at the data center and three on‑site servers will be decommissioned over the next two years,” the agency reported. She said the migration was completed in pieces months earlier and the final project completion was reported to the board during the Q2 packet review. IT also reported successful completion of the first DIR‑mandated cybersecurity training module and one phishing simulation; staff noted a few employees clicked on the simulated phishing message and plan follow‑up training.

The IT team is conducting initial AI testing in a SORM test environment and is exploring potential use cases such as auto‑generated claim summaries to assist supervisors with reviews. Staff stressed testing is at an early stage and any live deployment will require additional validation.

What’s next: IT will provide updates on decommissioning timelines, additional phishing simulations and training for staff who failed the simulation, and findings from controlled AI testing before any production roll‑out.
