Kevin Roderick, contractor of record with National Grid, told the board the company seeks permission for three new pole locations — two on West Center Road and one on Pixie Hill/Fitzy Hill Road — related to an AMI smart‑meter project that will collect household energy‑use data and speed outage response. "This new equipment is gonna be part of the our AMI, project. It's pretty much installing new smart meters in all the homes and collecting the data," Roderick said.
