Aug 11, 2026

Court staff proposed reclassifying three positions at an estimated annual county cost of about $9,000 to address a backlog of 155 journal entries that has left roughly 123 sentenced inmates still in county custody; short‑term help from sheriff and DA staff volunteers will assist while staffing changes are implemented.

Mark, who works with court records, told commissioners the county had about 155 journal entries still to be completed and that 123 inmates who should be in prison remained locally because entries were not finalized. "We have 3 people who do full time journal entries...By doing that, I believe we can increase the stability in a group," Mark said, proposing reclassification of three positions at an annual cost to the county of roughly $9,000.
