Board approves one-year extension with QLESS Inc. for virtual wait-line system

Tammy Cully, speaking on behalf of the Treasurer's Office, recommended that the board accept Change Order No. 1 to extend the county's contract with QLESS Incorporated through Sept. 23, 2027, for $41,059.89. "recommend to accept the change order to extend the contract through 09/23/2027 with QLESS Incorporated in the amount of $41,059.89," Cully said.

Cully described the system as a virtual wait line that lets users secure a spot from a smart device or at kiosks in tag office locations, receive SMS updates about estimated wait times, and request more time or exit the queue. She told the board vendor improvements had improved wait-time accuracy and that the county received a one-month credit to address previous problems. When asked if the mobile queuing capability was new, Cully said it was an existing feature and the vendor had made improvements to reporting accuracy.

Board member Brandy recused herself from this item. After questions and discussion, a board member moved to accept the change order and a second was recorded. The clerk called the vote and several members voted "aye," carrying the motion to approve the extension. The bid board record shows three recorded "aye" responses during the roll call; one member had recused herself.

The extension keeps the existing QLESS service in place while the county monitors vendor improvements; the Treasurer's Office will proceed with contract administration and any required follow-up.
