Commissioners approve concrete work to support secure masonry for child support records
Faced with weight limitations in the courthouse's old Surveyor's office, commissioners approved approximately $25,000 in concrete work to allow masonry walls to secure child support records; staff also noted fireproof cabinets (about $35,000) as an alternative perimeter protection measure.

Tony Sommer briefed the board on securing child support records located on the first floor of the courthouse to comply with federal IRS-related requirements for tax information. Sommer said masonry walls were the preferred perimeter, but the old Surveyor's office flooring cannot support that added load without reinforcement.
