Board tables engineering redesign request until Aug. 25

Fannin County Board of Commissioners voted to table a pending engineering/redesign request to their next regular meeting, the board’s chair said. Chair (speaker identified as the meeting chair) told commissioners that updated engineering materials were expected imminently and recommended postponing formal action until the documents could be reviewed.

"They think they've got that, and they'll be in our boxes to look at probably tomorrow for the engineering for the redesign of that," the chair said, noting a late update from staff and contractor Keith Nicholson. The chair moved to table the item to the regular meeting on Aug. 25; another commissioner seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.

The request was first raised at the July 28 meeting and had previously been tabled to allow additional engineering work. No final decision on the project scope, funding, or schedule was made at this meeting; staff indicated commissioners would receive the new plans before the Aug. 25 session. The board recorded the tabling as a procedural delay to allow more complete engineering review.
