Board asks how Assumption Church will choose statuary from Archdiocese warehouse

Architect Chris Borchardt told the board that the Archdiocese of New York maintains a Staten Island warehouse of salvaged statuary and that the church intends to select pieces from that collection for three designated grotto locations. "Archdiocese of New York has a warehouse in Staten Island that basically houses all the churches that have been closed...All the stuff that they can pull out of that heads to this warehouse," Borchardt said.
