Council advances update to residential solicitors code after police concerns
On first reading the council accepted Ordinance No. 4920 to amend city code regulating residential solicitors; staff said the Police Chief requested updates after a company sent roughly 40 individuals seeking permits.

Commissioner Seth D. Mingus introduced Ordinance No. 4920 on July 21 to amend Chapter 4 of Title 10 concerning residential solicitors. Scott Brunton told the council the Police Chief asked for the changes to modernize an outdated registration system after an incident in which a company sent about forty individuals to secure solicitor permits.
