Gresham-Barlow board hears first read of K–8 social science adoption; high-school move delayed

On April 23 the Gresham-Barlow School District Board received a first read of a K–8 social science curriculum adoption. Presenters recommended TCI and Social Studies Alive! for grades 3–5, used OR‑IMET for K–2, and postponed high‑school adoption to focus on SB 3 requirements.

The Gresham-Barlow School District Board of Directors on April 23 received a first read of a proposed K–8 social science curriculum. Dr. Tim Collins and Heidi Lasher told the board the adoption process involved 38 educators across the district and emphasized equity, student voice and alignment with updated standards; the board postponed high‑school adoption until next year to focus on implementing Senate Bill 3 requirements.
