Library attic-insulation project moves ahead; trustees to consider neighbor’s privacy screen July 28

The board reported that the library attic-insulation project has progressed to staging: the first load of materials — including 2x4 plates, tape and fabric for an air barrier — has been placed in the attic, and crew access is planned through the attic window. The minutes state the goal is to complete the project by October and that Bethal Mills will be contacted to coordinate delivery once work is finished.

Separately, the board discussed a visual-impact concern raised by a neighbor about a recently installed heat pump. Board member Brian Cali and the neighbor agreed to attend the library trustees meeting on July 28 to request that trustees install a privacy screen; the trustees will decide whether and how to proceed. Brian also submitted information on completed and proposed projects to Efficacy Vermont to seek funding to offset unfunded work at town facilities. The board discussed lighting choices for the library and noted fixture selection was underway.
