Library trustees warn delayed town audit may jeopardize grant awards including HUD proposal

Paul Romonelli and Shivan McDermott, trustees of the Jamaica Municipal Library, told the Select Board that Madeline — the library’s staff lead on grant work — has submitted three grant applications and that the town’s incomplete audit may have jeopardized some awards. Romonelli said the library submitted a $350 summer-reading grant, a $683 courier-services grant and a $308,000 HUD public-facilities preservation proposal and that some funders require a completed audit for eligibility.
