The Public Safety Committee met and voted to recommend three special-event permits to the full Council: Main Street Monroe’s car show (June 5, 4:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m.), Main Street Monroe’s summer concert series (May 30–Aug 15; typical setup 5:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m.), and the Zilmer Riley American Legion Memorial Day parade (route from Rec Park to Greenwood Cemetery, including cemetery activities). Committee staff reported no objections from police or fire departments for any of the items.
