Public Works Committee: Amethyst Construction awarded hot-mix bid; multiple change orders approved

Milton Melton, reporting for the Public Works Committee, told the jury the committee awarded the low bid for maintenance hot mix to Amethyst Construction and approved several change orders. The minutes record Change Order No. 1 for the Shady Grove Road Bridge replacement in the amount of $12,366.70, Change Order No. 1 for the Make-A-Difference park project in the amount of $17,000.00, and Change Order No. 1 for the CIP Hot Mix Overlay project in the amount of $108,829.60. The committee also approved substantial completion for the CIP Hot Mix Overlay Project, declared various items surplus, authorized advertisement for bids, and approved providing aid for ditch and street repair to the City of Grambling.
