Lieutenant Courtney Adams, supervisor of SLED's Computer Crimes Unit, told the subcommittee the unit now has 12 full‑time staff — nine class‑1 officers and three criminalists — and is operating at full staffing after recent General Assembly funding. Adams said the unit's core mission is preservation, processing and analysis of digital evidence and that average data processed rose to about 117 terabytes per year for 2020–2025.
