Board members and elections staff discussed the logistics of staffing extended hours and additional sites should the board choose a higher-access voting model. Staff noted training, onboarding paperwork and background logistics create a bottleneck: the office typically runs multiple training classes and has limited trainers, and the maximum number historically hired in a cycle was about 70 people. Staff warned that longer shifts create fatigue risk for poll workers, many of whom are retired and may not be able to work extended consecutive days without shift structures.
