Lafayette leaders discussed whether to budget for a replacement of Fire Engine 101 after staff warned that repairing the 1999 apparatus is becoming unsustainable. The fire representative told council that many parts are obsolete and that, while the unit shows low odometer miles, it has heavy idle hours and recurring maintenance needs that justify planning for a new apparatus.
