The Helix School Board conducted the first reading of Policy KH (Public Gifts to the District) and agreed to adopt the changes as presented, foregoing a formal second reading. The motion to approve was made by Friday Bracher and seconded by Bobby Corey; the motion carried with three members recorded present for the vote and two members absent.
Separately, the board passed a resolution instructing the district to cast votes in OSBA governance elections for Nicole Schott (Board of Director position 2) and Jose Aparicio (Legislative Policy Committee position 2). The resolution language was read into the record and passed by board motion; the board’s recorded votes were consistent with other routine agenda motions during the meeting.
The policy change and the OSBA resolution were procedural actions the board said would align the district with its stated practices and allow the district’s official OSBA votes to be cast per the resolution.
