Residents press commissioners on data center: town hall planned, requests for studies and possible moratorium
Multiple residents raised technical and policy questions about a proposed hyperscale data center, asking for infrastructure impact studies, transparency on developers and tax abatements, and whether the county will consider a moratorium on future data centers; commissioners said building permits and state agencies will review technical details and they will research the moratorium process.

A string of public commenters used the board's public-comment period to press officials about a proposed hyperscale data center. Elijah Chandler invited commissioners and residents to a neutral town-hall meeting on Friday, June 5, 7–9 p.m. at the county fairgrounds to collect questions and expert panel answers. "We're gonna host that Friday, June 5 from 7 to 9PM," Chandler said.
