Commissioners extend Butler County $5 Local Use Fee sunset through 2038
The Butler County Board of Commissioners approved Ordinance No. 1 of 2026 on July 8 to extend the ten-year sunset provision for the county's $5 Local Use Fee from 10/31/28 to 10/31/38, voting unanimously.

Butler County commissioners approved Ordinance No. 1 of 2026 on July 8, 2026, extending the ten-year sunset provision for the county's $5 Local Use Fee. Planning Director Mark Gordon presented the ordinance (advertised in the Butler Eagle on 6/26/26) and said the amendment updates the sunset dates; Commissioner Kimberly Geyer moved for approval and Commissioner Kevin Boozel seconded. The motion "carried unanimously."
