The Public Works Committee ordered several neighborhood traffic-calming and pavement projects after Department of Public Works staff explained the assessment process and project details. Holly Rutenbeck of DPW said that property owners will receive bills after work is completed, with a 45-day payment grace period; "Within 45 days upon receipt of the bill, the full amount may be paid without interest," she said, noting that unpaid bills will carry an 8.5% simple interest rate per year.
