Committee corrects mixed zoning at 1993 South Muskego Avenue

City Planning Director Tanya Fonseca told the committee the parcel at 1993 South Muskego Avenue had become a mixed-zoning site when two parcels were joined following a recorded deed in 2018, creating an RT4/LB2 mix the department recommends correcting to LB2. "This property previously consisted of 2 parcels... and as part of the sale deed that was recorded, both sites were joined upon sale which created a mixed zoning situation," Fonseca said, noting the City Plan Commission unanimously recommended approval after no members of the public testified at the July 20 hearing.

Fonseca said the property contains a commercial mixed-use context, including a bar that plans to add a commercial kitchen, and that the rezoning is consistent with plan recommendations for the intersection. Alderman Samper moved passage and, with no objection from committee members, the file was scheduled for public hearing as required by zoning process. The committee took no final zoning action at today's meeting; the item will proceed through public hearing steps.
