Committee names members to Citizen Climate Advisory Committee after contested selections

The joint city–county panel voted to appoint John Lawson, Jyoti Parmer and Cody Gusto to three‑year seats on the Citizen Climate Advisory Committee and selected Saoirse Voodoo for a two‑year term ending 2028. The committee then appointed Richard Devereaux as the alternate.

Chair (the meeting chair) opened the item, saying the selection table on the agenda had been updated to include all applicants. Jennison explained the staff approach: applicants were shown in application order and staff included every applicant on the printed tables so commissioners could consider scheduling preferences and original applications. After commissioners reported top picks, a motion to appoint Lawson, Parmer and Gusto was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote. On the two‑year seat the committee considered the sole applicant and other qualified candidates; a motion to appoint Saoirse Voodoo carried by voice vote. The committee then moved and approved Richard Devereaux as the alternate and thanked appointees for serving.
