Charles Parker, the county’s facility director, told commissioners staff has scheduled a vendor to assess wireless coverage and wiring in jail pods so the county can install the correct number and placement of access points and support educational tablet use. "We are scheduling to have a vendor come out and identify all the pods, figure out where we need wireless access points, and what kind of wiring is going to be required," Parker said, describing a coordinated plan with jail IT and the sheriff’s office to separate infrastructure work from tablet-side procurement.
