Lumberton ISD authorizes application to TEA to delay teacher certification implementation
The board authorized staff to submit an application to the Texas Education Agency under Texas Education Code §21.0032(a-1) to delay implementation of teacher certification requirements for teachers of record in core foundation courses; motion passed unanimously Feb. 25.

At its Feb. 25 special meeting, the Lumberton ISD Board of Trustees voted to authorize the district to submit the required application to the Texas Education Agency to delay teacher certification implementation for teachers of record in core foundation courses in accordance with Texas Education Code §21.0032(a-1). Trustee Kenny Burkhalter moved the action, which was seconded by Trustee Ashleigh Wert and carried with six yes votes.
