District administrators used the Jan. 14 meeting to brief the board on school activities and operational planning. Lacey Sharp reported on the Scholastic Book Fair, the Winter Music Concert, staff professional development and upcoming diagnostic testing. Blaine Braithwaite updated the board on block scheduling plans for 2026-27, Mid-Year Finals Week, MAP testing and a student Registration Fair planned for April.
Lorena Woods, Dean of Students and Athletic Director, said she is reviewing attendance and referrals on Interdistrict Transfers and described attendance tracking and tardies. On athletics she reported middle-school girls basketball activities, coaching staff training at a Dimensional Institute, baseball coaches' use of the batting cages, an OSAA reclassification process and that the district will field a JV football program in place of a varsity program for the next two years. Woods told the board, "The Booster Bash is February 14th at EOTEC." Superintendent Beth Burton reported on interim assessments, projected PERS rates and anticipated OEBB increases, and mentioned an upcoming English Learner Family Info Night.
