County authorizes three CLTS coordinator positions to reduce child-support waitlist

Facing a state compliance pressure and a waitlist of about 60 children, the board approved three Medicaid-funded CLTS coordinator positions. Directors cited 141 new cases per year and said the maintenance-of-effort remains a county obligation.

County human services leaders told the board they are out of compliance with state expectations for the Children’s Long-Term Support (CLTS) program and need to add staff to address growing demand. Director Wiedemann said the county currently has roughly 60 children on a CLTS waitlist and is seeing about 141 new cases annually.
