Palmer ISD hears middle-school STAAR weaknesses; district to resume in-day tutorials
At its July 14 meeting, Palmer ISD staff reported weaknesses on STAAR in Grade 8 Social Studies and Science and Grade 6 Math and said the middle school will resume scheduled tutorials during the school day to help students.

At the Palmer Independent School District regular meeting on July 14, 2025, Kristin Middlebrooks presented district STAAR results and highlighted specific areas of concern at the middle school. "The Middle School had areas of concern in Grade 8 Social Studies, Science and Grade 6 Math," Middlebrooks told the board, and staff outlined plans to provide additional instruction during the school day.
