The Maryland Judicial Council voted unanimously to convert its ad hoc Artificial Intelligence Workgroup into a standing AI Governance Subcommittee charged with setting strategic direction, developing policies on the use of AI and generative AI, monitoring compliance, and advising on AI-related procurements. Justice Jonathan Biran formally proposed the change and the Council accepted the recommendation.
