City plans RFP for Scott Turner Golf Course and arranges Croc Center access during Olympic Pool renovations

City staff reported the city will issue a request for proposals to explore managed‑service options for Scott Turner Golf Course later this month. The RFP will present multiple tiers — from agronomy services to full management and marketing — and staff said the course would remain a city facility regardless of contract structure.

"We're in that process of putting the request for proposals together," the staff member said, stressing the city's desire to find a contractor that understands the course's particular needs rather than a firm that simply adds another site to a large national portfolio.

On the Olympic Pool, staff said renovations will keep the pool closed for the summer but the city reached an agreement with the Croc Center to admit residents for a $1 fee during most of the pool's planned hours so children do not lose summer programming. Staff noted the Croc Center's closure day differs from the city's, and the Croc Center will coordinate hours to match the city's schedule as closely as possible.

Board members expressed support for preserving community access and for a careful procurement process for the golf course management; no formal decisions were made at this meeting.
