Trustees voted unanimously (6–0, 1 absent) to oppose Senate Bill 11, citing concerns about scheduling/tracking prayer that would require moving students and additional monitoring; the motion was moved by Board President Claudia Coronado and seconded by Omar Garcia.

On agenda item 5.A the board considered an alternative Senate Bill 11 resolution presented by the administration. Dr. Monica Luna spoke on behalf of HR Director Aaron Larraga, explaining that the proposed bill would require a designated scheduled time for prayer and create tracking obligations for students. After discussion about intent and logistics, Claudia Coronado moved "to vote AGAINST Senate Bill 11 and continue with current practices," seconded by Omar Garcia. The motion passed with six trustees voting for and one absent.
