Board holds closed session on preliminary allegations, reopens later same night

The Rush City board entered a closed session at 8:40 PM on Jan. 29, 2026 for preliminary consideration of allegations against individuals under the board's authority; Attorney Tim Sullivan attended. The meeting reopened at 10:01 PM with both motions recorded 6-0.

The board recessed at 8:19 PM and reconvened at 8:40 PM to hold a closed session under the agenda item described as 'Preliminary consideration of allegations against individuals subject to the Board's authority.' Rory Roth moved and Kevin Haugrud seconded the motion to close the meeting at 8:40 PM; the motion carried 6-0. Attorney Tim Sullivan of RRM attended the closed session. The board voted (motion by Rory Roth, seconded by Teri Umbreit) to re-open the meeting at 10:01 PM; that motion also carried 6-0.
