Resource Committee reports stronger 340B revenue; RHTP grant applications advancing

Vice President Cindi Lagoudakis reported that the Resource Committee saw seasonal increases in clinic, rehabilitation, home health and emergency room volumes. She said long‑term care census had declined over the past year but is beginning to rise as approvals are processed. The committee flagged pending Medicare reimbursements and noted that depreciation tied to the WERC building will affect future Medicare reimbursements.

The minutes record that stronger‑than‑expected 340B pharmacy revenue and increased patient volumes contributed to a positive fiscal position and that three Rural Healthcare Transformation Program (RHTP) grant applications had been submitted with award decisions anticipated in late July. CEO Phil Hofstetter later told the board that "as of right now we know of four that will be making it to the next step," reflecting an update in the grants pipeline. The committee also noted grant funding supports 3.5 FTEs across 13 PMC positions in FY2026 and that most previously awarded HRSA and State of Alaska Coronavirus project funds have been expended.

The Resource Committee discussed higher‑than‑budgeted contract labor, maintenance and utility costs associated with the WERC building and MRI; management said cash reserves remain strong, vendor payments are current, and audit work is ongoing with a trial balance expected by the end of August.
