Trustees Honegger and Van Zeyl proposed new zoning language to limit occupancy of "specialized vehicles" on village lots to occasional overnight stays, cap use at 14 days per year, and require 72-hour resident notification with guest and vehicle details; trustees discussed removal of guest-name requirement and possible attorney review.

The full story

Trustees Honegger and Van Zeyl presented proposed language for restricting occupancy of specialized vehicles (RVs) on residential lots. Trustee Honegger introduced the first paragraph: "Specialized Vehicles shall not be occupied or used for living, sleeping or housekeeping purposes on any zoning lot in any zoning district except for the occasional overnight sleeping by residents of the zoning lot or their guests provided that such overnight sleeping does not violate any other ordinance of the Village of Third Lake and does not exceed fourteen (14) days in a calendar year." Trustee Van Zeyl offered the companion notification paragraph: "Residents of a zoning lot must notify the Village of their intent to house a guest or guests in a Specialized Vehicle on their lot not less than seventy-two (72) hours prior to the arrival of the guest or guests on their lot. Resident notification to the Village shall include, at minimum, the following: Name and address of the hosting resident, their phone number and email address, names of all guests staying with the resident, their planned length of stay (start and end dates) and the make, model, and license plate of the Specialized Vehicle."
