The Albany County Personnel, Administration and Legislation Committee voted July 6 to forward a request from Alameda County Health to oppose a proposed HUD rule change on equal access to housing, citing local preemption and harm to the county’s continuum of care for transgender and gender-nonconforming people. Chair opened the item and a supervisor moved to advance the county’s opposition; the committee approved the motion and the item will be recommended to the full board.
