Board approves Heritage Farm final plat despite neighbor septic concern
Des Moines County supervisors approved the final plat for the Heritage Farm subdivision on the west side of Gear Avenue after staff and the health department advised the historic septic drain issue should not affect plat approval; a neighboring property owner raised concerns about a septic drain and fence placement.

The board approved Resolution 2026-032, the final plat for the Heritage Farm subdivision — a partition of roughly 100 acres into three lots west of Gear Avenue — after staff said the plat met subdivision regulations and the city of West Burlington had signed off under its two-mile review. Land-use staff told the board that the south two parcels were auctioned and the larger north parcel would be retained by a family trust.
