The Pine River-Backus School District Board of Education held its reorganization meeting on Jan. 5, 2026, and elected its officers for the coming year. Acting Chair Chris Cunningham, who presided, was nominated by David Sheley and "was named Chair." Ryan Trumble was nominated and named Clerk; Roger D. Hoplin was named Treasurer; and Carrie Maurer-Ackerman was named Vice Chair.
