Following an executive session, trustees unanimously approved hiring Laura Pevoto (Brown) as junior-high counselor and Brent Johnson as an HVAC/maintenance employee, both set to start Feb. 2, 2026.

After convening in executive session at 7:47 p.m., the West Rusk County CCISD board returned to open session and approved two employment actions. Trustee Matthew Eastwood moved to employ Laura Pevoto (Brown) as the junior-high counselor with a start date of Feb. 2, 2026; Jeff Mason seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
