Board tables accessory-structure variance at 2931 Yule Tree Drive pending plans, elevations, and cladding details

The Planning & Zoning Board voted to table VA2611, a request for variances to allow a front‑yard accessory structure of 1,440 square feet and to waive matching‑facade, roofline and color requirements at 2931 Yule Tree Drive.

An applicant who identified herself as Ariel (Aerial) spoke about constructing a large accessory building and said she previously built a similar structure. Several board members said the packet lacked clear building plans and elevation drawings and asked for more information, including the accessory‑structure plans, elevations of both the accessory and primary structures, height verification, and a detail showing exterior cladding and paint to match the primary house. The board also asked that the accessory structure be built on a stem‑wall foundation to prevent the recurrence of previously observed issues where accessory structures exceeded primary building height.

On that basis members moved to table the application and directed staff to provide the applicant a clear list of the materials required for resubmittal. The motion to table passed and staff will return the item when the requested documentation and clarifications are provided.
