Board approves superintendent contract extension after closed session
After tabling the item and meeting in closed session under Texas law, the Canton ISD board approved a contract extension for Superintendent Dr. Brian Nichols by a unanimous 7-0 vote.

The Canton ISD Board of Trustees tabled consideration of a contract extension for Superintendent Dr. Brian Nichols, convened in closed session under Texas Government Code §§551.072 and 551.074 to discuss personnel and real property, then returned to open session and approved the extension. The motion to approve was made by Catherine Irwin and seconded by Julie Stern and was recorded as passing 7-0.
