Planning commission recommends Green Springs intersection be added to comp plan, declines Watauga widening
After public testimony from a nearby church and an adjacent farmer who called the Watauga design 'excessive,' the Washington County Planning Commission split two proposed road projects and voted to recommend the Board approve the Green Springs Road improvements and deny the US 11/Watauga widening.

The Washington County Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend that the Board of Supervisors place the Green Springs Road/Green Springs Church Road intersection project into the county comprehensive plan while recommending denial of the proposed widening at the US 11 (Lee Highway) and Watauga Road intersection.
