Commission notes updates: DES decision on waste site, Oaklands Rd development and Eversource outreach

The commission reviewed several shorter updates. Members noted that the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services intends to issue its decision on the Resource Waste Services application on June 30; the commission recalled public concerns raised at the prior hearing including groundwater, traffic, air quality and odor, and that the proposed facility would accept regular household garbage.

The commission also noted that a parcel on Oaklands Road (Map 210 Lot 22.12) was on the Planning Board agenda and received conditional approval pending legal review; the commission will monitor conservation areas and wetlands associated with that project even though it has no direct regulatory role. Finally, members said Eversource visited in April and may run an energy-savings outreach event in September; details will be shared when available. Staff and members discussed scheduling a potential special meeting (possibly June 25) to handle items postponed by the notice issue.
