LCC approves new-member orientation and pay for training
The council authorized new-member orientation for the House and the payment of members for attending that training, citing statutory authority; the motion passed by voice vote.

The Legislative Coordinating Council authorized new-member orientation meetings for the House and approval to pay members attending the training as outlined in statute KSA 46 1 46 a. Senate Secretary Susan Kennard said this is an "every 2 year item" and explained the authorization covers paying members for coming in for the training. "And really what the authorization is is to pay the members for coming in, for the training as it's lined out in KSA 46 1 46 a," Kennard said.
