Santa Rosa ISD says CTE/Early College building about 85% complete; move‑in targeted for mid‑April

Project Manager Ernie Villarreal told the Santa Rosa ISD Board on Jan. 20 that the district's CTE/Early College building renovation is roughly 85% complete and remains on schedule for construction completion in mid‑March and an expected move‑in by mid‑April 2025.

"Project is about 85% complete," Villarreal said in the presentation slides and accompanying report. The project page lists contract completion May 12, 2025 (with 60 added days for additional work) but a projected completion date of March 12, 2025 and a construction cost of $2,842,564.07. Key recent accomplishments included completed masonry, in‑wall plumbing and completed perimeter wall angle and ceiling grid in the administration area; the fire sprinkler system passed inspection and an electrical transformer was installed.

Villarreal outlined ongoing challenges: site grading west of the building to redirect water away from the structure, repair of a roof parapet, replacement of exterior round steel columns with 4"x4" square columns, and HVAC and door hardware work on the administration side. The report said a punch‑list walkthrough for the administration side is planned in about two weeks and that VCT and ceramic tile installation is contingent on climatizing the concrete floor.

Gerlach Builders LLC is listed as general contractor and GMS Architects as architects; the district's project management consultant PMSI and other consultants are shown in the project materials. The board reviewed associated capital expenditure schedules and payments to contractors during the meeting's financial reports.
