The Commissioners Court approved a $40,000 contract and budget amendment to add contracted security staff at the county courthouse. Deputy County Administrator Russell Schoffner said the funding comes from the courthouse security fund, not the general fund, and would pay for three contract security officers to staff the courthouse during peak hours (about 8 a.m.–1 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday).
