Ditching committee outlines spring clearing plan and seeks easements

Richard (Rick) Coleman, coordinator of the Town's Ditching Committee, presented a multi-step plan for clearing major tributaries to improve drainage. Coleman said the first priority is south of Ide Road from McKee Road to the Pettit local properties and that a second area will focus on Transit Road and the Drake Settlement area; the committee has been meeting with county supervisors and DEC staff to understand wetlands constraints and obtain contacts for permitting and mapping.
