At a June 9 special meeting, the Anthony Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a budget amendment to replace an aging backflow pump at the high school. Superintendent Dr. Oscar A. Troncoso and Maintenance/Custodian/Transportation Manager Rene Ramirez told trustees the existing pump “is too old and will not pass inspections” and that, if not replaced, water could be shut off to the high school.
