Board hears technical and ADA concerns at Granger and other sites; staff says fixes possible

Board members raised specific operational concerns about several sites, including Wi‑Fi reliability at Granger Community Church and parking access for mobility-impaired voters. Jackie and voter-registration staff described intermittent router performance in the spring and efforts to deploy new Wi‑Fi units; Joni from voter registration said interior access at Granger met ADA standards but that the parking and ramp placement made drop-off and van access awkward for some voters.

"We wound up having to put it away from the supervisor... because it was not [getting] the signal," Jackie said of a replacement Wi‑Fi unit that required repositioning to get reliable connectivity. Voter-registration staff said they had driven an accessible van to each location and tested ramps and door widths; the only remaining access concern for Granger was vehicle access and where a ramp would sit on site. Staff proposed testing consolidated setups in advance of an election and re-examining the site list in the spring to allow technical fixes or alternative locations to be adopted with more lead time.

The board agreed to keep sites under review and to prioritize resolving technical connectivity and parking/van-access problems before considering further closures.
