Board approves three executive‑session items including construction GMPs
After a closed session, the Beaufort County Board approved a personnel ratification report and two contract amendments: McKnight Construction (Palmetto Early Childhood Center GMP $6,452,413.97) and Thompson Turner Construction (May River Elementary playground GMP $852,312).

The board entered executive session to discuss personnel matters, contract negotiations and legal advice. Upon return, Secretary Victor Nee read the first motion to approve the personnel ratification report for the period 07/01/2026–07/31/2026; the board moved and seconded the motion and proceeded to vote. One trustee publicly recorded opposition to the personnel ratification motion while the remainder voted in favor.
