The Building Standards Commission set a special called meeting for Aug. 31 at 5:30 p.m. to consider a substandard-structure case on 3021 South College Avenue after staff said an engineering report determined the continuous retaining wall that spans eight properties poses an "imminent threat to people and property." Staff urged a rapid hearing so the commission can act after certified-mail and newspaper notifications meet the statutory 10-day notice requirement.
